Solo & Ensemble Event Registration

The ETSBOA Upper Area Solo and Ensemble Festival will take place at Cherokee High School in Rogersville, TN on Saturday, March 1. This event allows students in both the beginning and advanced bands the opportunity to perform a solo by themselves or with piano accompaniment, or an ensemble in a small group (duet, trio, quartet, etc.) Students that receive an excellent or superior rating will be awarded a medal for their performance. Those that plan to participate should begin working now to prepare. Please note, those students that wish to participate must provide their own transportation to the event.

If you need help finding music, please see Mrs. Hutchison. (If you have a private teacher, they may wish to select music, but it still must be brought in for approval by Mrs. Hutchison.) Music selection must be completed before submitting fees. Fees will be collected during class Monday, January 27 thru Wednesday, January 29. Fees must be submitted in a sealed envelope with exact change, and the student’s name and amount enclosed listed on the outside. Checks should be made out to Elizabethton Band Boosters.

General Student Guidelines

• A student may not enter more than three events and are reminded that the quality of performance should be a top consideration when signing up.

• There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $10 per student per event. This fee includes the medal. 

• The judge must be supplied with a copy of the music with measures numbered.

• Students should play only literature appropriate for this event. (Popular music is not appropriate.)

• Entries will only be accepted from their band director (not from private teachers.)

Solo & Ensemble Festival is a great opportunity for individual students to showcase their individual talents and abilities on their instruments. This event will not only help individuals improve but also our entire program. Specific performance times will be distributed to students when released from the association.  Please note that performance times cannot be requested.
